Kamil Leśniak

Kamil Leśniak is one of Poland’s leading mountain runners and ultramarathoners. For more than 20 years, he has consistently developed his athletic career, specialising in ultra-trail running. Sport is not only his passion but also a way of life. Alongside his own development, he actively supports other athletes in achieving their training goals by sharing his knowledge and many years of experience.

He began running in 2006. Early in his career, he won the title of Toruń Champion several times at distances ranging from 1,000 metres to the marathon. Over time, he turned his focus to mountain and ultra-trail running, where he achieved his greatest successes. He has won the Polish ultra-trail title three times, and his record includes 10 Polish Championship medals and 10 World Championship appearances. Although he lives in the lowlands, he has successfully competed against the world’s best athletes on the most demanding mountain courses for many years.

He won his first Polish Championship medal in 2015, taking bronze in a long-distance mountain race. This achievement opened the door to representing Poland on the international stage and confirmed his belief that mountain running was the discipline he wanted to build his athletic future around.

Kamil’s many years of experience extend far beyond sporting competition. For years, he has contributed to the development of the running community by co-creating and organising sporting events. He is currently involved with Baran Trail Race, and has previously worked on events including Ultra Mazury, TUT, TriCity Trail, City Trail and Lament Świętokrzyski. He also gained valuable knowledge working in specialist running stores and on the editorial team of MaratonyPolskie.pl, giving him an in-depth understanding of the running world from both an athlete’s and an organiser’s perspective.

His love of the mountains and sport goes hand in hand with a passion for travel. Training camps and races have taken him to many remarkable places around the world, including the Alps, the Dolomites, Madeira, the Azores and Thailand. By combining sport with discovering new places, he is constantly seeking new challenges and inspiring others to push beyond their own limits.
